For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) |

What we believe and preach There is only one true and living God. God has spoken through His Word, the Bible, the whole of it being completely reliable. It is the only authority for all that we believe and teach. God has a plan for this world from beginning to end. God is Creator of the heavens and the earth, and of us all. Man is separate from all other living creatures, each person having an immortal soul. The gospel is good news for sinful people in a world which has been ruined by sin. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. He is the eternal Son of God. He came into the world to save sinners. He lived a perfect life, suffered and died on the cross, rose again from the dead, and ascended into heaven. All who are blessed by God with repentance from their sins and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ have eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ will come again with power and great glory to judge the world: at that last Day all that have died will be raised again, and together with those alive will answer for their lives to Him. There will be a separation for ever of those who have lived fruitful lives by faith in Him, from those who have willingly ignored their Maker and His salvation. Further informationThe Lord’s Supper, held after the evening service on the first Sunday of each month, is the only service which is effectively restricted to church members. Today those who subscribe to our Basis of Faith form the church membership and decide on our ongoing matters. We are sometimes referred to as Strict Baptists, because we believe that the privilege of joining in the Lord’s Supper should be restricted to those who are members of the church, having been baptised by immersion as believers. |
